Maurizio di Tollo - Come è profondo il male (2026)

Come è profondo il male (How Deep the Evil Is, 2026) is a monumental solo concept album by Maurizio di Tollo, one of the most respected drummers and composers of contemporary Italian progressive rock. Having earned international acclaim with the classics of the RPI Renaissance (La Maschera di Cera, Finisterre), on this album, di Tollo emerges not only as a virtuoso rhythmic architect but also as a mature vocalist and composer. The album's title alludes to Lucio Dalla's celebrated work (Come è profondo il mare), but here the author explores the dark depths of the human psyche, the ethical catastrophes of modern times, and the nature of moral decline. Recorded with the cream of the Genoese and Milanese art-rock scenes, the album combines the profound lyrical tradition of Italian cantautori with the baroque-symphonic power of RPI.
