Irish post-rock/folk collective Trá Pháidín has released their new album "Cloch's Clai" ("stone and wall") via World of Echo, following the Hive Mind reissue of their record "An 424". The concept of the 10-track record revolves around the deconstruction of the Gaeltacht phenomenon—the Irish-speaking regions of the country. The musicians draw a parallel between the socio-cultural isolation of the language and the traditional dry-stone walls that shape the rural Irish countryside.
The sonic foundation of the project builds on folk traditions and the Irish language (Gaeilge), transforming them through improvisational structures. Across the arrangements, traditional elements merge with krautrock motorik rhythms, dense drone segments, and dynamic loud-quiet post-rock shifts reminiscent of Slint and Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Political satire and social commentary are delivered through spoken skits and breathy Gaeilge vocals, establishing an approach to heritage sound akin to Jerusalem in My Heart's reinvention of Arab folk.

1. Trá Pháidín - Tí Mhichael Phaddy
