Frank Incense – Motorik (2026)

Motorik (2026) is a monumental homage to the foundations of the German krautrock scene, embodied in a contemporary psychedelic sound by the Frank Incense project. As the title suggests, the album's concept is built around the famous pulsating "motorik" rhythm ($4/4$ with an unwavering, hypnotic, linear beat), introduced into musical parlance by Jaki Liebezeit (Can) and Klaus Dinger (Neu!). Recorded with an emphasis on analog synth oscillators and looped guitar phrases, the album creates the effect of continuous, meditative sonic movement, fusing the aesthetics of golden-era West German krautrock with contemporary guitar-driven neo-psychedelia.
