The early childhood of Spanish musician Chris, spent in Seville before moving to London at age five, left behind hazy yet deeply embedded impressionistic memories. This sharp contrast between the clarity of his English formative years and the nostalgic ambiguity of his earliest days became the emotional foundation for the EP Wish I Could Tell You.
Rooted in ambient, folk, and modern classical music, the release marks a significant creative evolution following his previous album Sidekick. Moving away from collaborative and spontaneous recording sessions, Chris fully scored and arranged the piano and harp compositions in advance, allowing the studio work to focus intensely on performance, interpretation, and sonic exploration.
The album's soundscape recreates the fragmented nature of memory by combining acoustic guitar, scored harp, reversed textures, VHS audio clips, and field recordings. This blend of acoustic instrumentation, electronic textures, and cinematic production builds an intimate atmosphere that explores nostalgia, distance, and the elusive quality of time.
