Music reviewers (such as the industry publication Blues Magazine) noted that this work became an excellent calling card for the band. Although the album is filled with excellent covers of blues legends, it is the original title track, "It's Freezing in My Heart," that demonstrates their own creative maturity and ability to "make the listener feel the blues to the point of goosebumps."
