Another gem from Réunion’s Kayamba Records, bringing us up to speed with the electro Maloya sound in ’26 via original cuts of speed garage-esque warpers, berimbau-inflected baile glyde, and rushy rave from the Indian Ocean

Replete with crackshot remixes, ‘Ultra-Zoréol’ introduces Réunion’s Kobé Lulu to the world at large with an upfront dose of electro Maloya modernism. Packing some of the tweakiest tackle on the label thus far, it’s all jacked directly into the local scenius identified by Kayamba Records, generating the rudest club traction in the squashed, mid-tempo Maloya-moombahton of ‘Hard Bobre’, and warping berimbau tang to grinding 6/8 triplets on ‘Piton Belleville’, before ramping the energy close to contemporary Euro trance, but kinked with somethgin to really dance to, on ‘Malizé (ft. Soren)’, and a fierce reggaeton-Maloya-dancehall winner ‘Okoright’. Sedjem enhances the set with a near-soda rework of ‘Bakagain’, and Woréka goes full send on brisk remix of ‘Malizé’.
