The Triple Album Collection (2012) is a box set from Rhino Records that brings together three key studio albums by American pioneers of heavy psychedelia, Iron Butterfly: Heavy (1968), In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (1968), and Ball (1969). It is a fundamental archival cross-section of the band's golden period, documenting the transformation of raw garage acid rock into monumental proto-heavy metal and early progressive rock. The box set's highlight remains the album's seminal 17-minute title track, In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, which had a colossal influence on the development of stoner rock, doom metal, and heavy art rock of the 1970s.
