The musical duo Boy Harsher, comprising Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller, prepared a twelve-track album titled Get Mean, scheduled for release on September 18, 2026, via Atlantic. The project was conceived as a documentary-style exploration of personal turmoil, grief, and heartbreak, transforming these experiences into a narrative of personal resilience. The creation process spanned eight recording locations across the United States, Mexico, and Italy, maintaining the duo's self-contained in-house production methodology.
The album's sonic layout merges dark electro, darkwave, coldwave, and minimal electro-pop. The instrumentation balances driving kick drums and icy synth pads with focused, stripped-down arrangements that support expressive vocals moving between vulnerability and seduction. The album rollout featured advance singles Jeans and Hard Beat, the latter accompanied by a music video directed by Boy Harsher themselves in collaboration with cinematographer Owen Smith-Clark.

1. Boy Harsher - Ronny
2. Boy Harsher - Jeans
