VA - Disco Funk Vinyls: Legendary Hits from the Golden Era (2026)

The "Disco Funk Vinyls" compilation by V.A. is released on Wagram and brings together 20 timeless classics from the disco and funk era. As a new installment in The Vinyls Collection, this set focuses on the golden age of dance music and offers a representative cross-section of the songs that shaped club culture in the 1970s and early 1980s.

The track selection ranges from international disco anthems to distinctive funk grooves, featuring both orchestral arrangements with strings and horn sections and earthy rhythm sections with soul-infused vocal performances. With contributions from Amii Stewart, Curtis Mayfield, Positive Force, Aaron Neville, Loleatta Holloway, Patrice Rushen, and Silver Convention, the compilation showcases genre-defining artists whose productions still resonate today thanks to their catchy hooks and danceable grooves.

The collection is equally suitable for long-time collectors of classic disco and funk recordings and for newcomers looking for a compact overview. Musically, this edition emphasizes the interplay of danceability and melodic sophistication, illustrates the breadth of the genre, and documents the role of vocalists, arrangers, and producers in shaping the characteristic disco-funk sound.
