Formed in 2004 by Azam Ali and Loga Ramin Torkian, the musical project Niyaz has spent two decades fusing medieval Sufi poetry and Middle Eastern folk with modern electronics. Over the years, the group's sound has evolved from dance electronica to a deep, spacious ambient landscape. Their album Seven Realms of Attar serves as a conceptual realization of the 12th-century poem The Conference of the Birds, with each of its seven tracks symbolizing a stage of spiritual self-discovery.
