German electronic outfit Klangwart, led by Markus Detmer and Timo Reuber, delivers their album Wildnis, marking the next chapter in their global sonic explorations. The project's cross-cultural journey began in 2014 during sessions in Bogotá alongside members of The Meridian Brothers (Damián Ponce, César Quevedo, Eblis Álvarez) and vocal duo Las Áñez, resulting in a 2019 release on Staubgold that fused Latin American rhythms with their signature electronic identity.
Recorded at the Inkiek studio in Germany and during a 2025 French residency, Wildnis expands this narrative by integrating multi-instrumentalist Sébastien Del Grande on saxophones, marimba, and percussion. Catalan artist Ivan Telefunken (Ivan Chin) also contributed to the sessions, recording a Catalan-language rendition of the new wave staple Eisbär by Swiss band Grauzone. The record weaves together Latin American field recordings (field recordings), organ drones, Catalan folk, German krautrock, and modern electronic textures, establishing the framework for the trio's boundary-pushing live performances.
