Worried Blues (2017) is a treasured archival release that takes listeners back to the very roots of R.L. Burnside's raw, unrefined sound. Released on Alive Naturalsound, the album features archival recordings from the 1960s and 1970s that capture Burnside at his most natural and hypnotic—alone with an acoustic guitar. The intense, meditative, and archaic performances make this album the perfect contrast to his later, electrified work on Fat Possum Records, which explored funk and hip-hop.
