Lusk An Amzer is the debut studio album by the Breton folk group Kern, released in 1995 on the specialist label Gwerz Pladenn. Kern was founded in 1992 by singer Kristen Nikolas, who had built his early career performing kan ha diskan call-and-response singing before travelling widely, and guitarist Didier Dréau, a jazz-trained musician who spent several years in Galicia before returning to Brittany. The pair toured for the first time in 1993, and this album was recorded two years later during a break between concert dates.
Sessions took place over ten days in February 1995 in Guengat, in the Finistère department, engineered by Patrick Péron, with fiddler Jacky Molard serving as artistic director and also contributing violin to two of the album's tracks. The core lineup on the record included bassist Erwan Volant and percussionist/keyboard player Dominique Le Bars, alongside guest musicians Thierry Moreau on cello and biniou kozh (the older-style Breton bagpipe) and percussionist Dominique Molard.
The tracklist runs to twelve pieces, including several short instrumental interludes titled "Digoradur" ("opening") that punctuate the longer Breton-language songs.
Within Kern's discography, this is the first of three albums recorded by the group's original lineup, followed by the larger-ensemble Envorioù Gwechall (1996) and the duo record by Nikolas and Dréau, Bed Ar Gaou – Bed Ar Spi, later named record of the year by Chaden Ar in 1999. A label archive page also lists a licensed edition on Globe Sony (catalogue no. DIC B 1069.2), suggesting the album may have reached wider distribution beyond the dedicated Breton-music market, though this edition isn't corroborated by any further source.
