Volumen Uno (1974) is an iconic and extremely rare artifact of the 1970s Venezuelan heavy metal scene. Alcatraz's debut album is an uncompromising fusion of raw, uncensored hard rock, Latin American percussion, and psychedelic funk. Released during the heyday of the South American rock underground, the album has gone down in history as one of the region's most powerful and rhythmically explosive releases, combining heavy guitar riffs with a pumping Afro-Caribbean groove.
