Be A Receiver (1978), the second studio album by American singer Benny Hester, became an important document in the development of early Christian rock and the West Coast pop scene of the late 1970s. Released on the influential Sparrow Records label, the album showcased the high level of studio production characteristic of the Californian mainstream of the time. Hester masterfully combined spiritual lyrics with sophisticated melodies, rich vocal harmonies, and mellow yet dynamic soft rock arrangements.
