The collection clearly demonstrates the distinction between the uncompromising, experimental hard psychedelia of Zior and the slightly more structured, commercially oriented (but no less heavy) sound of Monument, created for the same musical material under a different name.
In contrast to the standard blues-rock of the era, Zior and Monument actively exploited dark themes of mysticism, the occult, and surrealism, anticipating the aesthetics of doom metal and occult rock.
