Locust - Spectral+ (2026) [Hi-Res]

BAND/ARTIST: Locust

British musician Mark Van Hoen, the mind behind the iconic electronic music project Locust, has presented a new album, Spectral+, released via TODO Records. The record explores fresh sonic territories while drawing on the heritage of innovators such as Giorgio Moroder, Brian Eno, My Bloody Valentine, and Boards of Canada. The album features a broad lineup of guest collaborators, including Neil Halstead of Slowdive, Olive Kimoto, Natasha Morrow, Nick Holton of Black Hearted Brother, and Griff Spex, whose focus on industrial electronics adds a distinct edge to the release. The album announcement is backed by a return to live performances: Mark Van Hoen assembled a new live lineup and performed a series of U.S. shows, including festival sets at Perfectly Imperfect, And Always Forever Festival, and Flower Moon Festival. These mark Locust's first live concerts since touring alongside Massive Attack in the 1990s. Today, the project's fanbase spans both long-time followers who recall their tours with Autechre and Aphex Twin, and a new generation of listeners discovering Locust amidst the resurgence of trip-hop.
