Record label Hitchcock Media Records presents the premiere official release of composer Don Peake's soundtrack for Michael Pressman's 2003 independent comedy-drama Frankie and Johnny Are Married. The narrative revolves around the humorous and challenging efforts of a television producer mounting a stage play by Terrence McNally while simultaneously navigating marital troubles.
The musical score crafted by Don Peake is rooted in chamber jazz, blending elements of comedy film score and romantic music. Featuring Peake himself on guitar, the jazz ensemble includes prominent musicians such as Brian Bromberg, Plas Johnson, Michael Melvoin, Steven Hufsteter, and Mike Stephans. Restored from the original master elements, this release highlights Peake's ability to weave sophisticated jazz textures and character-driven melodies into screen scoring.
