"Nadia's Theme (The Young And The Restless)" is a 1976 studio album by American composer, songwriter, and producer Barry De Vorzon, released on Arista Records. The album was compiled following the commercial success of its title track, an instrumental composition originally written by De Vorzon and Perry Botkin Jr. under the title "Cotton's Dream" for the 1971 film "Bless the Beasts and Children". The piece subsequently served as the theme music for the soap opera "The Young and the Restless" and was retitled "Nadia's Theme" in 1976 after being featured in televised montages of Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci during the Montreal Olympic Games.
The tracklist combines De Vorzon's original film and television themes (including "Theme From S.W.A.T." and "Bless The Beasts And Children") with instrumental renditions of mid-1970s pop hits such as Eric Carmen's "All By Myself", Leon Russell's "This Masquerade", and Bruce Johnston's "I Write The Songs".
The album was produced by De Vorzon with engineering by Matt Hyde, utilizing a prominent lineup of West Coast studio session musicians. The recording features guitarists Lee Ritenour, Dean Parks, and Jay Graydon; keyboardists David Foster and Tom Hensley; percussionists Victor Feldman and Gary Coleman; saxophonists Tom Scott and Ernie Watts; and brass player Fred Wesley.
