The legendary Black female trio from New Orleans, The Dixie Cups, who gained widespread fame with their number-one hit «Chapel of Love», switched to the ABC-Paramount label in 1965 to release their second album. Unlike their earlier work, this record is deeply rooted in local Louisiana folklore and musical traditions. A prime example is the lead single «Two-Way-Poki-Way», where classic girl group pop makes way for authentic New Orleans rhythms and carnival culture. This reissue is expanded with four rare non-album singles from the ABC-Paramount / ABC era, turning the release into a definitive collection for music historians and collectors.
