Musician Elias Mahfoud, performing under his solo moniker Chez Ali, has prepared his debut full-length album Disco Beldi for release via Rama Lama Records. The title captures the artist's multicultural background: combining the Spanish word "Disco" with the Arabic term "Beldi" (signifying authenticity and homemade craft), it symbolizes an organic fusion of 1970s disco, 1980s Arabic pop, turn-of-the-millennium R&B, and modern indie.
Work on the material began in the summer of 2023 and progressed through a period of significant personal and logistical upheavals — including the conversion of his studio into a bomb shelter and a complete re-evaluation of his creative process. Working in solitude allowed Chez Ali to break away from familiar constraints, resulting in eight tracks that balance dynamic dance music with understated melancholy. Building upon the success of his 2018–2020 singles, EPs, and tours across the UK and Scandinavia, the artist achieves a fully realized, sincere, and uncompromising sound.
