The iconic French group Gipsy Kings returned with their album Savor Flamenco on the Knitting Factory label following a seven-year recording hiatus. Self-produced by Tonino Baliardo and Nicolas Reyes, the project reunites the core line-up of the Reyes (Nicolas, Canut, Paul, Patchai, Andre) and Baliardo (Tonino, Paco, Diego) brothers alongside guest instrumentalists.
The album blends the group's signature nuevo flamenco with diverse Latin and Brazilian musical styles. Tracks such as "Samba Samba," "Tiempo del Sol," and "Caramelo" incorporate elements of bossa nova, samba, forro, and Brazilian folk forms, while "Me Voy" brings a modern touch with acoustic piano and upright bass.
