Jakob Riis-Søndergaard's S.O.S - Songs Of Sympathy, is a solo piano album that explores the modern ambivalens, in what seems to be a rapid declining society, full of war and apocalyptical catastrophy. How can humanity endure such violence and still keep the hope afloat? With a mainstream artscene that seems more interested in selling products through robots, and obscure ideals, rather than enlighten. All theese questions asked by Jakob seems to float seemlessly through all the melodys, and it allways seems to be on the brinck of a mental breakdown, but something allways gets it back on track. On the track Himmelvendt, he connects what seems to be the late Beethoven into a modern melody with minor7 chords, giving this listerner goosebumps.Maybe the answer to the questions is in the titel. The SOS, is best answered with Sympathy.
