All of the works on this new album are world premiere recordings in their respective versions or arrangements, recorded live—in part during the 2025 Salzburg Festival—and wonderfully interpreted by Elena Denisova (violin) and the Austrian Gustav Mahler Ensemble under the direction of Alexei Kornienko. Franz Hummel’s Violin Concerto in memoriam Max Reger was premiered and recorded during the Max Reger Days in Weiden in 2016 in the presence of the composer. Violinist Elena Denisova arranged Stravinsky’s Suite for Violin and Piano into a version for violin and orchestra, which reveals entirely new timbres and a surprising musical character.
