I always wanted to make a record designed especially for swing dancing.
This year 2026, coinciding with our 20th anniversary, I decided that the session we do every year at the Plaça Reial in Barcelona, especially designed for dancers, was the perfect time to make it happen.
The Sant Andreu Jazz Band is sounding really compact, with a lot of energy and, above all, with a lot of swing. We have voices such as Koldo Munné, Irina Fernández and Pere Company, in addition to Edu Ferrer, special guest with whom we have recorded an album dedicated to Frank Sinatra.
We also have great soloists and a rhythm section that is working really well within this language.
Years ago I discovered a Frank Sinatra album called COME DANCE WITH ME!. Although the first idea for this project was to call it ONLY FOR DANCERS, I finally thought the perfect title was COME DANCE WITH US.
It’s a little nod to Sinatra, a figure that has been especially important to us over the past few years, but also because COME DANCE WITH US seemed to me a much more open and inclusive title.
The two volumes of this new work of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band are undoubtedly very danceable. But they are also records to listen to, enjoy and get carried away by music, even if you are not dancing.
COME DANCE WITH US is an album that I dreamed of making for many years.
And finally, that dream has seen the light.
