Pink - Greatest Hits.... So Far!!! (2010)

Pink's career has reached its 10th year. To crown this milestone, she released her album Greatest Hits…So Far!!!, which features 16 well-known songs and three new compositions.
Born Alecia Beth Moore, the American pop-rock singer had her first hit with the song “There Yo Go,” which appeared on her 2000 R&B-style album Can’t Take Me Home. A year later, in 2001, her more pop-rock-sounding studio album M!ssundaztood was a worldwide success.
Her third album, Try This, was released in 2003. Although the album was less successful than its predecessor, it sold 3 million copies, and Pink won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance for the song “Trouble.”
In 2006, she released her fourth solo album, I’Am Not Dead, which included several well-known and chart-topping songs, such as “Stupid Girls,” “U + U hand,” and “Who knew.”
Her song “So What,” which reached number one on the Hot 100, was included on her fifth studio album, Funhouse?, released in 2008. The album also gave Pink fans three Top 20 hits: “Sober,” “Please Don’t Leave Me,” and “Glitter In The Air.”

Her first compilation album, Greatest Hits...So Far!!!, was released in November 2010. There’s no doubt that we can be enthusiastic participants in a fruitful 10 years. And this album gives us enough momentum to say that.

Pink’s vibrant, wild personality is undoubtedly unique in the female pop-rock category. Her name, hair color, and husky voice are known from America to China. Over the past few years, we have been introduced to her outspoken lyrics, guitar-ripping melodies and the piercing moods of her songs.

On the album, we can find the Best of songs that commercial radio stations played almost to the point of oblivion. This has its downside, as we wouldn't listen to these songs for the three hundred and eighty thousandth time, let alone buy them on CD. However, this is far from the case with Pink.

While listening, I was confronted with a richness of instrumentation that I had never experienced before in several songs. I like how, in addition to the drums and guitar that reinforce the emphasized rock effect, she colors the songs titled "U + U hand" or "So What" with symphonic elements and scratched sound effects.

I am overwhelmed by the elemental power that shines from the songs. It has been proven that you don't need a text that fits into a short novel to make the emotion come through. What sets Pink apart from her peers is that her lyrics and performance are bursting with emotion.
Over the course of a 10-year career, the singer's songs have given us insight into her emotions, experiences, and pain. These experiences feel so real that the album can easily grow on us in a short period of time.
