Henry Threadgill, Vijay Iyer & Dafnis Prieto - Fifteen (2026)

This August, Nonesuch will release Fifteen, the first recording by the collaborative trio of Henry Threadgill, Vijay Iyer, and Dafnis Prieto.

Named for the number of years since this group of acclaimed musicians initially convened, the album is the result of fifteen years of performances, mostly at at New York City's Jazz Gallery after first playing at a fundraiser for the club. Fifteen's eight tracks were written by the three composers.

Henry Threadgill has been celebrated for fifty years as one of the most original, forward-thinking composers and multi-instrumentalists in American music; on Fifteen, he plays alto saxophone and flute. A composer and pianist active and revered across multiple musical communities, Vijay Iyer has created a consistently innovative, emotionally resonant body of work over the last twenty-five years, earning him a place as one of the leading music-makers of his generation. Drummer/composer Dafnis Prieto’s revolutionary drumming techniques and compositions have had a powerful impact on the music landscape, nationally and internationally, for more than two decades.
