The international trio HANDS, featuring vocalist Almut Kühne, multi-instrumentalist Francesco Bigoni, and guitarist Mark Solborg, released a three-EP project centered on human physical connection and the dynamic relationship between movement and sound. Inspired by philosopher K.E. Løgstrup’s reflections on touch, the work provides a tactile, present response to digital detachment.
The trilogy consists of 13 contrapuntal works and structured improvisations that blend contemporary chamber music with avant-garde jazz. The soundscape merges Almut Kühne's precise vocals, Francesco Bigoni's motion-controlled processing, and Mark Solborg's prepared guitars.
Divided into three distinct volumes, the release encompasses studio recordings from the Danish island of Møn, live performances at KoncertKirken in Copenhagen, and a collaboration with trumpeter Axel Dörner recorded live at LOFT during Cologne Jazzweek 2024. Accompanied by short films, the project was developed with support from the Goethe-Institut Denmark and the Danish Arts Foundation.
