Ally Evenson - Speed Kills (All Gas) (2026) [Hi-Res]

Cementing her status as one of 2026’s most compelling emerging voices, rising alt-pop singer-songwriter Ally Evenson proudly presents her sophomore album, Speed Kills, via Assemble Sound/Atlantic. Speed Kills evokes the sound of an unapologetic voice coming into her own. Infusing nineties-style alternative with unapologetic lyricism, Ally grafts raw and real emotion into the DNA of the LP. On the project, she shares, “As much as I wanted to write some form of a concept album, I didn’t. That’s totally fine. Speed Kills is my sophomore album, which in some ways feels like a continuation of BLUE SUPER LOVE, and in some ways it feels like the complete opposite. A lot of these songs are reflective and tend to study my behavior, and a lot of these songs are silly. All of them are unsettling in their own way. Letting things go can be horrifying and all-encompassing. Speed Kills feels like lying down in the sun while two people argue above you. It’s about slowing your panic down until it feels almost bearable.”

Over the course of 14 tracks, the project sees her process the aftershocks of a breakup: the ensuing anxiety, profound sadness, newfound confidence, and ultimately, self-actualization. Co-producing with longtime collaborator and trusted musical confidant nudge, she’s in the driver’s seat on Speed Kills. She sums it up best:

“All of these songs are about me and my life. You’re getting who I am on Speed Kills. This is a study of myself.”
