In the spring of 2025, musician Brad Frye recorded his debut solo album, Reverberations from the American Southwest, embarking on an expedition through remote areas near Albuquerque, New Mexico. Armed with a Reverend baritone guitar, a Fender Champ tube amplifier, a pedalboard, and a solar-powered generator, he created a series of improvisational and hypnotic instrumental electric guitar compositions. Utilizing a Zoom H6 recorder, Brad Frye captured the region's natural environment—birdsong, rivers, wind, passing trains, and the sounds of wildlife and insects—seamlessly weaving them into the album's texture. The sound of the record blends drone elements with a spaghetti western aesthetic, serving as a musical love letter to the landscapes of New Mexico.
