Max Devereaux (1994–) is a Minneapolis-based composer and guitarist, a cross-disciplinary artist who works in video, painting, and even ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement). He has built his unique creative activities through continuous output based on intuition, improvisation, and process-based approaches, and has a distinctive presence in the contemporary American avant-garde scene. His releases, which sit at the intersection of contemporary music, electroacoustics, and sound studies, have exceeded 100 from labels in various countries, including Japan, and he has collaborated with Japanese improvisational and avant-garde musicians such as Hiromichi Sakamoto, Shoji Hano, and Ryuichi Yoshida.
