Australian multi-instrumentalist, producer, and songwriter Marcel Borrack released a solo instrumental album titled Sun Dust on the Cheersquad Records & Tapes label. Moving away from the sound of his previous work The Telecaster Diaries, the new record draws deep inspiration from the cinematic and musical legacy of Indian filmmaker and composer Satyajit Ray, as well as the artist's fascination with Indian classical music. Marcel Borrack recorded the entire album independently, developing a custom guitar tuning to generate organic melodic foundationslayered with traditional Indian instruments (sitar, bansuri) and acoustic strings (banjo, mandolin). Framed as a "soundtrack to an unmade film," the project operates within Folk, World Music, and Cinematic Ambient, blending tactile natural textures, cinematic drama, and cross-cultural exploration.
