"Children of Húrin" (2007) is the second studio album by the Italian musical project Ainur, released by Electromantic Music.
The album's concept is based entirely on J.R.R. Tolkien's epic novel of the same name, "The Children of Húrin." Musically, the project retells the dark and dramatic story of Túrin Turambar, his sister Nienor, and the curse placed by Morgoth on Húrin's kin.
Ainur combines the structure of progressive and symphonic rock with elements of folk, classical music, and rock opera. The recording features a large lineup of musicians, including a rock band, a full orchestra (violins, cellos, flutes, oboe, trumpets), keyboards, and a polyphonic choir with solo vocals (soprano and baritone).
(Deluxe Edition): The 2007 edition of the album includes a CD with the main material (13 tracks) and a bonus DVD containing live footage, documentaries about the making of the album, interviews and archival footage.
