Introducing Metal Will Reign, a PD debut from Bristol-based producer How Du. Having previously appeared on two Pressure Dome compilations with his signature deep two-step sound, this eight-track collection sees him expand his palette, exploring the intersections of dub techno, downtempo and soundsystem music.

Throughout the release, How Du demonstrates a remarkable ability to balance movement and introspection. Rich low-end pressure underpins each track, whilst intricate percussion, dubbed-out textures and delicate melodic elements create immersive environments that reward both deep listening and dancefloor engagement.

In keeping with this spirit, Metal Will Reign moves fluidly between light and shade. Opener 'J2 Saga' introduces the record's spacious world through drifting pads, dubbed atmospheres and subtle melodic flourishes, whilst 'The Snow Moon' and 'C Gate' delve into darker territory, pairing alien sound design and haunting vocal fragments with cavernous bass weight and spacious half-time rhythms. Elsewhere, 'Bosmode' and 'Stemah' showcase the two-step sensibilities that first drew us to How Du's music, balancing playful groove with warmth and restraint. 'Pressure' and 'Villains of Albion' explore the release's more downtempo corners, weaving together dubbed-out basslines, optimistic synth work and understated rhythmic detail, before closer 'Code 279' dissolves into a haze of expanding textures and stripped-back dub pressure.
