Ivan Busic, founder of Dr. Sin, releases his second solo album, "Into the Blues," a record that immerses listeners in the blues roots that have shaped him since childhood. The idea for the album took hold on Christmas Eve, when his wife Nathalia introduced him to a Fleetwood Mac record from the Peter Green era that he hadn't previously heard. The discovery hit him so deeply that it triggered a rapid burst of creativity: more than ten songs were written within a single week, with drums, guitars, and most of the arrangements recorded almost in parallel with the writing itself. Raised in a household where music was practically in the air — thanks to his father, André Busic, a member of the Traditional Jazz Band and Blue Gang — Ivan absorbed jazz and blues from an early age, later adding country and rock, the genre on which he built the bulk of his public career. For the recording, he brought in people close to him: his brother Andria Busic on bass and keyboardist João Nogueira. The sound carries the imprint of genre icons B.B. King, Freddie King, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Ma Rainey. The album is out via ForMusic Records, with the CD available for pre-order. On release day, August 1st, Ivan performs at Blue Note in São Paulo, playing both new songs and blues classics.
