"Sweet As Candy" (1998) is the second studio album by the Norwegian band The Yum Yum's, released on the cult independent label Screaming Apple Records (1-2-3-4 Go! Records in the US). It's a benchmark, uncompromising celebration of energy and melody from the masters of Scandinavian power pop.
From start to finish, the album is filled with a blistering tempo, ringing guitar riffs, nostalgic keyboard interludes, and incredibly catchy choruses in the vein of The Ramones, The Raspberries, and The Beach Boys. It's a dense and loud guitar sound, crossed with the naive, sweet melodies of 1960s bubblegum pop.
