Spain's early-1970s psychedelic and progressive underground was almost invisible outside a tight circle of collectors — most recordings appeared in tiny private pressings on rare singles, some surviving in only a handful of known copies. Andergraun Vibrations! gathers 16 such tracks, recorded between 1970 and 1978 and pulled from the private collections of some of Spain's most dedicated vinyl hunters. The release combines the previously ultra-limited vinyl first volume with half of the second, bringing them together on CD for the first time after a long stretch out of print.
The material sidesteps the usual clichés of dusty archival reissues — no bland R&B, no worn-out acetates, no weak garage-beat covers. Instead it delivers wild garage psychedelia, proto-prog textures, and grimy, driving hard rock: screaming vocals in Spanish and English, swirling Hammond organ, pounding drums, fuzz and wah guitars, and proggy flute parts. Artists featured include Expresion, Madera De Ciprés, Galaxia, Xetxu, Skorpis, Ibiza Sound, Modificacion, The Matches, Unidades, Shock, All & Nothing, Ciclon, Albert Band, Rudy Ventura, and Piñonate.
The packaging matches the archival spirit of the release: a jewel case housed in a decorative outer cardboard slimcase, and a 20-page color booklet with detailed, updated liner notes in English and Spanish, rare period photos, and carefully restored and remastered sound.
