Italian sound sculptor Gino Fioravanti, working at the intersection of acoustics and electronics, releases his 89th album overall — Aglaia — the seventh on the Projekt label. It offers 86 minutes of deep meditative ambient, built from processed acoustic instruments blended with subtle electronics. The album's concept draws on the Shaivite Hindu notion of "khecari" — the state of floating freely through boundless spaces of consciousness, and its ultimate form as complete fusion with the Absolute. Each of the six tracks explores its own "altitude," whether external or internal, physical or shaped by memory and intuition. "Unicorn" paints a naive, richly natural landscape of scents, light, and fruit ripening in the wind. "Novilunio" shifts into more mysterious, translucent dimensions where the line between outer and inner blurs. "Mediumship" is dense with magnetic and gravitational imagery, conveying rebirth through dissolution — sound here is no longer transmitted but simply received. "Anemoi," named after the Greek wind spirits Boreas, Zephyr, Notus, and Eurus, returns the listener to warm, intimate atmospheric heights. "Lines in the Sky" reassembles landscapes and roads as if glimpsed from above or through the haze of memory. The closing "Advent" leaves behind only echoes and the chime of suspended metal, speaking of boundless happiness and open doors of travel. Taken as a whole, the album is conceived as a continuous stream of sound inducing states of mental emptiness, trance, and contemplation — music that opens space for intuition and inner vision.
