The series' curators (DJ Mojo Man / Little Victor) have collected archival recordings from the 1950s and early 1960s, united by one characteristic: an emphasis on fiery guitar parts ("hot frets").
Energetic rhythms, screeching guitar amps, elements of doo-wop, twist, and juke joint blues. The album conveys the atmosphere of dance clubs and bars of the mid-20th century.
Along with little-known artists (Boliver Shagnasty, Bo Toliver), the disc features early recordings by musicians such as Guitar Shorty, Lazy Lester, and Jackie Brenston.
