Shub, the pioneer of Powwow Step and a founding member of the JUNO-winning Indigenous electronic group A Tribe Called Red, closes out his two-part sonic autobiography with Heritage (Part Two), a project uniting cultures and generations through music. Part One was built on hard-hitting yet celebratory rhythms drawn from hip-hop, '90s IDM, dub-infused trip-hop, and drill bass; Part Two shows the artist at his fullest, blending electronic, hip-hop, and powwow energy. The record features DJ Paul, Natasha Fisher, Aysanabee, Drezus, Sebastian Gaskin, and other guest artists, each bringing authenticity and creative freedom to the tracks.
Standout songs include the fuzzed-out anthem "Bloodline," the layered, echoing "Origin," and the focus track "Rise," a message of solidarity anchored by Aysanabee's soaring vocals alongside a deeply personal verse from Drezus about mental health.
