GUEST ARTIST: SHERYL CROW ON "HONKY TONK WOMEN"
Welcome to Shepherd's Bush is a live album and video recording of the rock band The Rolling Stones.
The concert was recorded on June 8, 1999 at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire Theater for a total of 1,800 people right before the large-scale shows at Wembley Stadium. The release on CD, LP, Blu-Ray, Ultra HD Blu-ray and digital formats took place on December 6, 2024. The album and video capture one of those rare concerts of The Rolling Stones, which they held at small, chamber venues. Due to the small hall, the recording is devoid of excessive crowd noise, creating a presence effect. The performance took place as part of the No Security tour. The band deliberately abandoned the stadium hits in favor of "deep cuts". The track "Melody" was played live for the first time since 1977, and the song "Moon Is Up" was performed from the stage for the only time in the band's history. The opening act was Sheryl Crow, who also performed the song "Honky Tonk Women" with the Stones, and rock legends Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and Pete Townshend were among the audience. The album cover resembles an abstract drawing with black lines on a gray background, but in fact it is a street map of the Shepherd's Bush area, where the arrow indicates the location of the concert hall.
