Metallica - 72 Seasons (2023)

It's April 14th, and Metallica's new album is officially out and available to listen to in its entirety. Produced by Greg Fidelman, 72 Seasons is the band's first album in seven years on their own label, Blackened Recordings, and features twelve tracks, totaling 77 minutes of music. James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo's current tour, consisting of two concerts, kicks off in Amsterdam on April 27-29.

Metallica's eleventh studio album, 72 Seasons, has been released and is available to listen to in its entirety, the first in a row from the world's most popular metal band since 2016's Hardwired... To Self-Destruct. "72 Seasons: The first 18 years of our lives that shape who we are, or who we aren't," says James Hetfield about the title. "The foundation is that our parents tell us who we are, which maybe even shapes who we are. I think the most interesting thing about this is the ongoing study of core beliefs, and how they influence how we see the world today. Much of our adult experiences are reactions to, or replays of, these childhood experiences. We either remain prisoners of our childhood, or we break out of the bonds we carry within us."
