Second album by American singer-songwriter JOHN WARREN, 1988’s “Take Me Back“, only released in Japan. While being a talented Los Angeles-based session singer, his recording contract stipulated that his albums would be released exclusively for the Asian market by H.I.T. Avenue / FunHouse Records.
Of course production on “Take Me Back” is top notch, and we find superb session musicians listed, among them the excellent Michael Thompson on guitar.

With Michael Thompson on guitar you’re bound to get quality, and quality is what you get on the catchy numbers “Take Me Back” / “The Love Beat”, as well as the uptempo ’80s action movie soundtrack-like “Into The Night”, a favorite.

Considered by many to be JOHN WARREN’s finest record, ”Take Me Back” is a pure delight for fans of classy 1987–1988 AOR. We dare say it’s an essential addition to any AOR collection—every track shines as pure gold within the genre.
