Chicago punk band Edging has announced their third studio album, "UNLOAD YOUR SHAME," the first release put out jointly with Portland label HEX Records. The band built its reputation on fierce independence: they self-released two prior albums, toured extensively alongside Lambrini Girls and Bushfire, and are set to head out with Amyl & the Sniffers this October. Their sound blends unhinged, saxophone-drenched punk with technical precision, paired with lyrics that take direct aim at the uglier sides of the world. The new album pushes that formula further: the sexualized kitsch of earlier releases now threads together with warped video-game samples and interludes that give the record a strange but cohesive pulse. It was recorded in two sessions — spring 2025 at Jam Town Studios in Philadelphia and spring 2026 at Palisade Studios in Chicago — produced and engineered by Evan Bernard, with mastering by Howie Weinberg. The result balances grit and clarity: short songs, fast tempos, howled vocals, and a wailing saxophone throughout. The band shows no signs of slowing down, with heavy touring plans already underway for 2026. The album is out everywhere June 5th.
