"Karate" (2009) is an archival compilation released by the American label Funkadelphia Records. The release brings together rare recordings from three closely related bands from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, who represented the local underground scene of the 1960s: The Emperors, Soul Exotics, and their later incarnation, Emperors Soul 69.
This release is a true treasure for vintage groove collectors. It brings together under one cover the legacy of underrated garage funk masters, whose original 45s (7" singles) now fetch high prices at auction.
