A collection of arias by Maki Mori, a fitting grand finale to the 250th anniversary of the death of Handel, one of the two greatest Baroque composers alongside Bach! From soothing classics like the well-known "Ombra mai fu" to dramatic pieces showcasing her authentic coloratura, this selection allows listeners to fully appreciate her beautiful melodies and voice. Furthermore, the famous song "Lascia ch'io pianga," made famous by Sarah Brightman and others, has been transformed into what could be called the "Maki Mori 2009 version" with unique embellishments! The backing band is "Les Boréades," led by Ryo Terakado, who gave a fine performance on Mutsumi Hatano's album "A Moment of Music." This ensemble of Japan's proud early music performers once again delivers a performance that beautifully complements the singing.
