“illune,” a rare poetic term of Latin origin meaning “absence of the moon,” explores the gray areas of human relationships through a highly original, sophisticated, and ironic language, set against a musical backdrop that moves between echoes of elegant soft jazz and influences from pop and electronic music.
“fabioeledistanze is an artist-led project. It originated in Bari from the music and lyrics composed by Fabio Nardulli, gradually bringing together musicians from diverse stylistic backgrounds and evolving through the passionate creative contribution of the entire band, characterized by a sophisticated sound that floats between echoes of soft jazz, refined harmonic structures, and elegant melodic openings. These semi-acoustic atmospheres are enriched by loops and carefully measured electronic sequences, which flow in harmony with the intensity of the Italian lyrics, delivered by the artist’s delicate voice. The verses aim to explore the fragility, vulnerability, and most intimate corners of the human soul, at times veering into subtle irony through the interplay of high and low tones. After all, the band’s name incorporates the word “distances”: whether physical, emotional, or metaphorical, this concept is the common thread that emerges and ties everything together, running through all the lyrics. From these lyrics, an urgency shines through: the attempt to breathe new life into the use of words, their weight, and the registers of communication between people.
