Luca Di Maio — Piccole Armi / Grandi Imprese (2019) is the second solo album by Italian singer-songwriter Luca Di Maio (former leader of the project Insula Dulcamara), released on March 1, 2019. This profound, multi-layered, and distinctive work explores contemporary social and personal themes through the lens of subtle psychologism and rich musical experimentation.

The album's title ("Little Weapons / Great Feats") reflects its essence: 11 chamber musical stories unfold into a sweeping emotional map. Di Maio is unafraid to push the boundaries of typical indie-pop about "unhappy love," addressing complex contemporary themes such as societal obsession with security and political manipulation. Musically, the album is an eclectic whirlwind. Traditional instruments (acoustic guitar, piano, drums) coexist with ethnic (bouzouki, autoharp, congas) and modern electronic textures (synthesizers, samples, glitch). The sound is particularly refined thanks to the work of Alessandro "Asso" Stefan (known for his collaborations with PJ Harvey and Vinicio Capossela), who was responsible for the recording and mixing. The album's visual symbol is an archival photograph taken by the musician's grandfather during the First Italo-Ethiopian War.
