Chiron - A Dark Beauty (2026)

Chiron, the Australian darkwave/post-punk act, has released a new album: A Dark Beauty.
The band was founded by Michael Aliani, former lead vocalist of IKON. His bandmates are Dino Molinaro (IKON, bass/cello) and Ivan Bullock (electric guitar).
While known for blending darkwave, gothic, post-punk, and electronic music, the music now ventures into progressive territories as well, but with a fresh, modern approach.
Special guests appear on two tracks: Kriistal Ann on “Flesh and Blood” and Yvette Winkler on “Oblivion”.

“This album is about finding beauty in the darker currents of human experience,” the band explain. “There’s a strange luminosity that can emerge from grief, longing, and uncertainty. We wanted to capture that contrast — something stark but radiant.”
This new release is a shadow-drenched and introspective affair that explores the tensions between fragility and strength, despair and transcendence. A Dark Beauty marks a bold evolution in Chiron’s sound. While known for their genre-defying mix of darkwave, gothic, avant-garde, and electronic music, this album honors its roots while venturing into modern and progressive territories. It blends thick, brooding atmospheres, driving basslines, cinematic textures, downtuned guitars, and pulsing rhythms beneath haunting, intimate vocals.
The result is a record that feels both expansive and intensely personal.
