St. Silva releases Forager, a collection of looping, meditative compositions that weave electronic textures together with natural and found sounds. The material was gathered over the course of a year, as the artist recorded, sorted, and re-collaged sonic fragments, later returning to them months after their creation to let time separate the material from its original moment. According to St. Silva, this temporal distance offers a healthy gap between artist and artwork, turning the album into a kind of document marking a specific period of life and its sources of inspiration. For the artist, making music often feels less like creating something new and more like discovering and gathering what already exists. Working with tape loops, modular synthesis, field recordings, and melodic synth lines, St. Silva builds a sun-drenched, warm nostalgia in which faded memories dissolve into rich, analog-saturated, forest-like sonic textures.
